libGL error: open DRM failed (Operation not permitted)

anybody tried adding the following line to the idea.vmoptions?

-Dsun.java2d.opengl=true

then I got this error message

~/idea-3542> libGL error: open DRM failed (Operation not permitted)

libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering

btw, I'm using linux.  Downloading Windows version now and will try the same thing.

and btw, I did this with eclipse, jbuilder and netbeans and no problem at all.

Thanks in advance.

Can you confirm if you're using JDK 1.5?  JDK 1.4 will just ignore this option is why i'm asking.

I was using Mustang, but I'll give it a bash on 1.5...

Seems to work on 1.5 as well for me.  At least its not crashing
