Can't install CocoaPods (And I don't have Maverick!)

I am unable to install CocoaPods. And please don't refer me to the other threads talking about Ruby 2.0 and Maverick. I have none of them!

I am on 10.8.5 with the latest XCode and Command line tools installed.

This is the errer message I get:

CocoaPods are not installed:

WARNING: You don't have /Users/thierryleveque/.gem/ruby/1.8/bin in your PATH, gem executables will not run.

ERROR: Error installing cocoapods:

Results logged to /Users/thierryleveque/.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/json-1.8.0/ext/json/ext/generator/gem_make.out

The weird part is the reference to Xcode5-DP3! Where does it come from? I am running the final version, not the dp3.

I have the exact same problem on 2 different Mac.

I have never used Ruby before. I I run ruby -v on the command line I get: ruby 1.8.7 (2012-02-08 patchlevel 358) [universal-darwin12.0]

Any idea??
