How to change the settings location?

I'm currently using PhpStorm 7 on Windows 8.1.

Additionally I have Google Drive installed - to my regret PhpStorm saves its settings into the cloud - which causes GDrive to always upload unnecessary stuff.

Is there any way to change the location of the .WebIde70 folder?

Re: How to change the settings location?

Hi there,

It places .WebIde70 folder in your user folder (e.g. C:\Users\USERNAME\.WebIde70 )

Unfortunately, due to the way how Java (yes, Java itself) detects such folder (as I understand it's calculated from MyDocuments folder location) it is not always correct.

The workaround -- specify full path manually via file ( PhpStorm_INSTALL_FOLDER\bin\ ) -- it has plenty of comments, so should be no problem understanding what needs to be changed and where.

Keep in mind that this file may get deleted when new version gets installed (should be no problem if you use built-in update/path mechanism) -- so keeping a copy of such file is recommended.
